A Breakfast affair at "Wamama"

There is nothing like a tasty breakfast to turn things around from sleepy to wide awake real soon. What you eat for breakfast can set the mood for the rest of your day and if that day is Sunday, the entire week.
Bangalore is a city that is famous for its idlis, vadas, dosas and sambhar. If you want to break out of the rut and try something new, tasty and healthy, I know the exact place you can do that.
It's called "Wamama", quite an interesting and different name, much like its menu.
Easy to locate, right opposite the BDA complex, Banashankari, on the top most floor, the place itself is bright, beautiful and inviting with modern art and interesting furniture. Friendly and courteous staff, it is a well lit and clean restaurant. I was there at 8.40 am, even before they were open for the day.

Not very common and set apart by its quirky names are Wamama's breakfast dishes.

Each and every dish has been handpicked and chosen with a lot of love and attention to detail. Prepare yourself for omelettes, scrambled eggs, devilled eggs, cheese steak, sausages, and desserts including an oats and berries yogurt dessert — and yes, even rice and chicken porridge.
Did I forget fresh fruit juices?
The menu features Malaysian, Filipino, Chinese dishes and English breakfast dishes.

What I ate?

Let me start with the first and my favourite, Chinese Jianbing.
Not only is this a good-looking dish but actually melts in the mouth. Not sure of the name of the sauce but it made the dish perfect. The chicken was very well cooked and the lettuce was perfect with the crepe.  Soft, scrumptious and delectable. All in all perfect for breakfast.

2. Devilled eggs
This is another classic dish. Healthy, wholesome and not too heavy. Boiled eggs served with a special chef mixture. This served with grilled tomatoes, potato wedges and slices of bread toast completed the dish.

3. Eggs Benedict
This is a typical English breakfast dish. Well made, tasty and to the point. Colourful with yellow, green and white ie the egg along with garlic bread, kids will really like this.
Again another complete meal by itself, the egg, sausage meat and the bread along with the sauce is a delightful masterpiece. I wonder what's in that sauce though.

4. Filipino tamales
Now this is one of their east Asian dishes on the menu. Filipino to be exact. Another colourful, photogenic and yummy dish. Momoish, I would say only much tastier. Steamed dough wrapped around shredded chicken, loaded with sauce. Each and every bite tastes different.  Sliced Onion, red sauce and lettuce lends to its very Asian flavour.

5. The menu has around 3 to 4 assortment of healthy yet tasty  and not so common desserts.
I tried the mixed berry granola parfait.
It came in a cute pickle glass bottle loaded with dry fruits, oats, purplish berries and a yummy yogurt mixed together so well. Quite a large quantity and of perfect consistency, this would suffice for two people.
Now that's what I call guilt free pleasure.

Fresh fruit juices that I tried.
*watermelon
*pineapple
Fresh and healthy alternative to any other drink, I dare say.

Glad to know that people are trying to improve the breakfast landscape of this city, as it's only relegated to the likes of masala dosa and coffee, especially in South Bangalore.
This is definitely a welcome change from the usual.
My suggestion is to go... try it out.
