It means Land by the shore.  For the past 28 years 'Karavalli' has been catering to bangaloreans with its wide array of coastal Malabar cuisine. I was lucky enough to be invited on Sunday to try their 'Malabar Mappila' breakfast. I was simply stunned at its rich, varied taste and another suprise, it tastes home-made. Now that is a difficult objective to obtain. Not only that, it is perfect for health conscious folks as well. Let me begin with the first dish I was served called 'Puttu and kadle curry' Rice and coconut Chick peas curry The curry was very tangy and made of chick peas. What you eat for breakfast can set the mood for the rest of your day and if that day is Sunday, the entire week. Bangalore is a city that is famous for its idlis, vadas, dosas and sambhar. If you want to break out of the rut and try something new, tasty and healthy, I know the exact place you can do that. It's called "Wamama", quite an interesting and different name, much like its menu. Easy to locate, right opposite the BDA complex, Banashankari, on the top most floor, the place itself is bright, beautiful and inviting with modern art and interesting furniture.
